Young Kim All But Confirmed As KAMA President

Young Kim has essentially been confirmed as the 30th president of the Korean American-Apparel Manufacturers Association (KAMA).

The KAMA announced Tuesday that Kim is the only candidate to register her intention to run after the 5 p.m. deadline. Director candidate Joe Song was also the only one to register before the deadline.

The eligibility to run for KAMA president and director roles requires at least two years of experience in a managerial role. Kim and Song are now considered all but confirmed as the next pair of leaders to take charge of the organization.

“Barring an unforeseen circumstance, the registered candidates will be elected,” said Richard Cho, who is in charge of the KAMA election.
The KAMA will announce its final decision after the election on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.

Kim is currently running women’s apparel business Iris. Song is running a similar business named Glam and has also served as KAMA’s 27th and 28th director.
