The Organizing Committee of the 21st World Korean Business Convention (WKBC) held a closing ceremony to express its gratitude to the Korean American community for their support in making the event a success.

More than 150 attendees, including the members of the Organization Committee, Korean American political figures, and business leaders, gathered at the Buena Park Hilton Doubletree Hotel on December 2 to celebrate the success of the past event.

“Thanks to the united efforts and passion of the Organizing Committee, led by Byunggu Hwang, chairman of the WKBC Organizing Committee, and Sean Roh, WKBC Venue Chairman. Their hard work and dedication have enabled us to accomplish what will remain not only in the history of the Korean American community but also in the long history of Korean immigration to the U.S.,” said Keewhan Ha, chairman of the WKBC Organizing Committee.

“I returned from Korea this morning, and the Korean communities are also recognizing the success of this event. It was only made possible by the cooperation and support of everyone here,” said Byunggu Hwang, chairman of the Organizing Committee, while giving a big bow of gratitude to the participants and receiving a round of applause.

“I would like to thank the directors of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County (KACCOC), the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles (KACCLA), Los Angeles World-OKTA, and Korean American business associations and leaders for their hard work and commitment day and night. I would also like to mention the support of the state government, the Small Business Administration, the General Services Administration, and the cities of Fullerton, Irvine, and Buena Park, as well as the Korean American community, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for their support,” said Sean Roh, WKBC Venue Chairman.

The committee presented plaques of recognition and certificates of appreciation to more than 60 Korean American staff organizers, volunteers, and members of the Organizing Committee, and U.S. Representatives Michelle Steel and Young Kim also presented certificates of appreciation to members of the committee through their respective aides.

“Thanks to the success of the event, we have received requests from participating businesses to hold the convention again, so we are aiming to launch another Korean American business convention in the United States under the name of K Expo in March or April 2025,” said Kyungcheol Lee, president of Korean American Chamber of Commerce USA (KACCUSA), and called for further interest and support.
