Korean Health Education Information & Research Center (KHEIR) is hosting “Medi-Cal Signup Event” on Feb. 25 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at its office (3727 W. 6th St. #230) on Sixth and Harvard.
“We’re hosting this event to help Korean immigrants who may find it difficult to visit the county department to sign up for Medi-Cal themselves on weekdays,” KHEIR said.
Sponsored by the California Department of Health Services, Medi-Cal is available to the following applicants: (1) American citizens or permanent residents between ages 19 and 64 with annual household income of 138 percent below the poverty line ($16,394 per person, $22,107 per two, $27,820 per three and $33,354 per four), (2) American citizens or permanent residents under the age 18 whose household income is 266 percent below the poverty line ($31,600 per person, $42,613 per two, $53,625 per three and $64,638 per four) and (3) recipients of deferred action who are 19 or younger.
