‘Trick or Treat Safety Rules’ Parents Should Read and Obey

Today (31st), LAPD introduced ‘trick or treat’ safety rules for both children and parents.

  • Trick or treat should be done in the daytime if feasible
  • Children should never be walking around alone
  • Never go into a stranger’s house nor call children into the house
  • Never get on a stranger’s car
  • Never let children be at a location where there is no light
  • Select the time range for children to stay outside and clearly make sure they come back home by the time
  • Never leave a house empty
  • Place pets at a safe location
  • Parents need to clearly know which roads children use
  • Halloween costumes for children should be non-flammable
  • Wigs and Masks should be non-flammable and should not block children’s sight
  • Never walk around with a toy gun that looks too realistic
  • Children should only use sidewalks
  • When children cross intersections, they need to pay attention to the surroundings
