It’s an awards season. Trader Joe’s unveiled its customer favorites on January 22, featuring a list of top products, including the social media sensation, frozen kimbap, securing a spot in the top 5 of Trader Joe’s fan awards.
In the ‘Overall’ category of Trader Joe’s Product Hall of Fame, Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips ranked at the top 1 of Trader Joe’s 15th annual awards.
Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings took the runner-up position, while the pork and ginger flavor also achieved fourth place on the list.
A Korean company that went viral on social media through a TikTok video, Allgot’s frozen kimbap, secured the third rank.
To preserve its texture, frozen kimbap is flash-frozen at -45 degrees Celsius (-49 degrees Fahrenheit), as noted by the company. Remarkably, the initial batch of 250 tons, equating to millions of wraps, sold out in less than a month after its debut at Trader Joe’s in August.
In the beverage category, the grocery chain’s seasonal Spiced Apple Cider topped the list, followed by French Market Sparkling Lemonade and the seasonal Triple Ginger Brew.
Frozen meals are a favorite among Trader Joe’s enthusiasts. The top spot for Lunch & Dinner was claimed by Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice, featuring chunks of tandoor-style chicken seasoned with Indian spices. The Chicken Tikka Masala, another Indian cuisine favorite, was the category’s runner-up, adding to the popularity of Indian cuisine among shoppers.
Other top-rated products in various categories include Brazil Nut Body Butter, Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Creamy Spinach & Artichoke Dip, each earning accolades in the competition.
