Southern California Edison (SCE) is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program, targeting high school seniors planning to pursue degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
According to a press release, SCE will award scholarships to 30 high school seniors, each receiving $50,000 over four years of college, totaling $1.5 million in funding.
In addition to financial support, scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to participate in paid summer internships at SCE after completing their first year of college.
Eligibility requirements include being a senior in a high school within SCE’s service area, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0, and planning to major in STEM-related fields such as computer and information systems, engineering, management information systems, mathematics, natural resources and conservation, or physics.
Applications are open until January 23 and can be submitted online at edisonscholars.com.
Since 2006, SCE has awarded $16.5 million in scholarships to 790 students through this program.
