“The studio system of SLL has seen a significant response in that it has established a system that can supply content to various platforms, breaking away from broadcasting-centered content production,” said Hong, regarding the market competitiveness of the SLL studio system and business direction of affiliated labels.
SLL, which rebranded from JTBC Studios last year, currently houses 15 different multimedia, television and film production studios, including Drama House Studio and B.A. Entertainment. Studios under SLL have been responsible for a number of hit dramas and films such as “My Liberation Notes” (2022), “Reborn Rich” (2022) and “The Good Bad Mother” (2023).
Hong, however, also stressed that the “quantitative expansion of works coupled with the rapid growth of streaming service platforms at home and abroad has slowed, therefore, it is time for a strategic shift to make the next breakthrough in content production.”
“In order to seek continuous growth, it is necessary not only to improve the quality of the content itself and achieve results globally but also to respond promptly to maximize profit, such as bringing innovation in distribution, Bit IP, seasonal planning and so on,” Hong added.
Hong asked the employees to cater to the needs of consumers in a timely manner and that proper compensation will follow.
