A Koreatown parking lot, located at the intersection of 6th Street and Shatto Place, is set for redevelopment into a 60-unit apartment complex.
On January 18, a case was filed with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning by Steve Hong of Shatto Properties, proposing the redevelopment of the parking lot at 446 S. Shatto Place into a seven-story building.
The construction approval application details the project as spanning 40,789 square feet, including a first floor and a subterranean garage capable of accommodating up to 44 vehicles.
As reported by Urbanize LA, the apartment complex is expected to offer a mix of 60 units, including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options.
The proposal includes Transit Oriented Communities incentives, allowing for the construction of larger structures despite the zoning rules, and designated 15 units for low-income residents.
The development site is located about one block from the Wilshire/Vermont Station.
