The first Korea Daily Senior Retirement Fair, in partnership with Korea American Medical Group (KAMG), will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 16 at the Saenuri Church at 964 S Berendo Street. The free-to-attend event will feature informative seminars, one-on-one counseling booths, and a raffle with a variety of prizes. Here’s a look at the information, counseling opportunities, and giveaways seniors can expect to find at the fair.
Seminars
Seminars are designed to provide useful and essential information about retirement. Syncis will conduct a seminar on retirement funds and a comprehensive checkup on assets and inheritance. SH Financial will present a seminar on reverse mortgages that allow you to calculate the value of your real estate and receive it as an annuity to create a stable retirement fund, and Blue Anchor Insurance Agency will provide information on annuity products that meet the latest retirement trends.
There will also be seminars on health insurance. United Healthcare will discuss tips for choosing a healthcare plan, and Anthem Blue Cross will discuss financial assistance for healthcare benefits. In addition, there will be an introduction to the qualifications and application process for free nursing home residency, which many seniors would like to know.
Consultation Booths
The fair will also have one-on-one counseling booths to answer various questions about retirement. For consultations on retirement pensions and insurance, asset management company Allmerits, Hub City Insurance, one of the largest insurance brokerage company, Hansol Insurance, which offers retirement plans ranging from life insurance to Medicare and pensions, AGA Insurance, a company specializing in Medicare, and SCAN Healthcare, where you can choose a plan that suits you, will operate consultation booths.
In addition, Kheir Clinic, which provides various support from insurance to medical services, and Valley Silver Town, which specializes in nursing home for comfortable retirement, will also welcome seniors at their booths.
The LA County Department of Mental Health and the LA City Attorney’s Office will also be on hand to provide useful information on seniors’ mental health care and how to prevent fraud for seniors. KAMG will also be offering special events in conjunction with the fair. KAMG specialists from internal medicine, surgery, geriatrics, and others will provide free consultations for basic symptoms.
Giveaways
All attendees will receive products from Nongshim. There will also be a raffle for round-trip tickets to Korea on Air Premia, Samsung LED TVs, travel suitcases, health supplements, H-Mart gift cards, and many more totaling about $20,000.
