Samho Tour offers free medical checkups to South Korea-bound travelers for 30th anniversary

Samho Tour, a Los Angeles-based Korean-American travel agency, will offer a complimentary medical checkup valued at $400 to clients participating in its group tours to South Korea this year, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The announcement was made during a press briefing on March 27 at Hong Yeon, a restaurant in LA Koreatown.

Health and wellness for milestone year

“This is a meaningful initiative to thank our loyal customers,” said Yunsoo Kim, marketing director at Samho Tour. “To mark our 30th anniversary, we designed a valuable travel experience that combines tourism and wellness.”

He emphasized that the free medical checkup program reflects the company’s commitment to client care and well-being, not just short-term perks. “This service is rooted in our philosophy of prioritizing long-term health for our customers,” Kim added.

Available to all 2024 group tour clients

The complimentary medical service will be available to all customers who join Samho Tour’s homeland travel packages departing in 2024. The checkups will be conducted at Yonsei Mirae Checkup Center in Giheung-gu, Yongin, a premium medical facility equipped with advanced university hospital-grade technology.

The clinic features 3.0T MRI, 128-channel MDCT, high-resolution Olympus endoscopy, and an AI-based breast cancer diagnostic system. University-level medical professionals will perform the exams.

Comprehensive screening and optional wellness alternatives

The full checkup includes 59 tests, such as ultrasound, gynecological exams, cancer marker bloodwork, and urinalysis. The process takes about two hours.

Clients who prefer not to undergo medical testing may opt for anti-aging wellness alternatives, including skin treatments, mineral injections, and vitamin therapy.

Test results will be delivered via email while still in South Korea. If further testing is necessary, clients will be referred to one of several partner hospitals, including Gangnam Severance, Yongin Severance, Seoul National University Hospital, and Samsung Medical Center.

Not a paid package, but a free bonus

This medical checkup program is separate from existing health-tourism packages and is offered free of charge to regular group tour participants.

Samho Tour began offering homeland tours in 1995. Over the past 30 years, it has guided more than 100,000 travelers to South Korea.

Premium packages and cultural immersion

The company currently offers ten packages, such as:

  • 11-day Jeju, Seoul, West/South/East Sea tour ($2,499 + airfare)

  • 9-day Seoul, West/South/East Sea tour ($2,199 + airfare)

  • 8-day West/South/East Sea tour ($1,899 + airfare)

  • 5-day Busan, West/South Sea tour ($1,099 + airfare)

These packages include stays at five-star hotels such as Mayfield Hotel Seoul, Samsung Hotel Geoje, and InterContinental Alpensia Pyeongchang Resort. Travelers also enjoy experiences like a 2-night Busan city tour and seafood and steak buffets.

“This promotion embodies Samho Tour’s core values of customer-first service and dedication to the Korean American community,” said the company. “In a time of a strong dollar, we hope many will take this opportunity to relax, reconnect with their heritage, and care for their health.”
