Purple wouldn’t be the first color that comes to your mind when you think of desserts. In this newly opened dessert shop in Los Angeles Koreatown, however, everything is pretty in purple.

Cafe Bora, located in Square Mixx food mall on S Western Ave, is the first U.S. outpost of the popular dessert shop of Korea. Famous for its photogenic desserts decorated with flowers, Cafe Bora makes its desserts using purple sweet potatoes as the main ingredient.

The main player at the new dessert shop is Bingsoo, which is a popular Korean dessert made with shaved ice and sweet toppings. Offered in four different flavors – red bean, green tea, strawberry, and the purple – shaved ice at Bora are made healthy with natural ingredients.

Another star of the place is Purple Sweet Potato Ice Cream, which shows an excellent balance of sweetness. Tiramisu, which is available in green tea and sweet potato flavors, is also popular.

Of course, the grammable presentation of its desserts grabs the attention of visitors. However, those who visit Bora more than once pay attention to the unique sweetness derived from natural ingredients. Instead of using excessive artificial sweeteners, Cafe Bora utilizes the natural sweetness of healthy ingredients like purple sweet potatoes, quinoa, and lentils.

The unique color from it is an additional charm that makes people want to try the purple desserts.
