Some parts of the I-110 freeway are scheduled for overnight closure this weekend for the demolition of a pedestrian bridge.
According to a Caltrans official, the closure is set to begin on Friday, January 26, at 11 p.m., with southbound I-110 reducing to one lane between I-10 and Exposition Boulevard. Beginning at 9 p.m., the eastbound and westbound connections to I-10 will also be closed, and the crews will also close the onramp to southbound I-110. All closures will be lifted at 7 a.m. the next day.
Then, the southbound lanes between I-10 and Exposition Boulevard, as well as the northbound lanes between Adams Boulevard and Washington Boulevard, will be completely closed starting at 11 p.m. on January 27. Onramps and connectors will start to close from 9 p.m. All closures are expected to last until 8 a.m. on Sunday, January 28.
Drivers are advised to take alternate routes or detours to avoid the closed areas, re-entering the freeway at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for southbound traffic and Hoover Street for northbound traffic.
