The Consulate General of Korea in Los Angeles (Consul General Youngwan Kim) will host a five-day online job fair from October 23 to 27 in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) LA Trade Center and Job Korea USA.
The largest job fair in the West, now in its 13th year, will be held online for Korean Americans across the country. The goal is to provide job seekers with enhanced employment skills and expanded job opportunities, and employers with convenient and broader recruitment opportunities.
This year’s online job fair, which will be held for the second time in the first half of the year, will collaborate with KOTRA’s trade centers in Dallas and Detroit to find quality jobs across the country, helping to address the unemployment problem among young ethnic Koreans.
Co-hosted by the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles and KOTRA, and organized by Job Korea USA, the event is expected to attract a total of 50 companies and 1,000 job seekers in collaboration with the Overseas Korean Traders Association (OKTA) and the Korean Investors & Traders Association Southern California (KITA).
The online job fair website, developed by Job Korea USA for the event, will enable job seekers to complete the entire process, from resume submission to interviews with company HR representatives, 100% online.
To date, more than 40 employers in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Detroit have expressed interest in participating, with positions ranging from programmers to accounting to marketing to overseas sales engineers.
“Southern California has a thriving science and technology hub and a large Korean-American community, offering many opportunities for young people,” said Consul General Youngwan Kim in Los Angeles. “We hope that this online job fair will be a win-win for young ethnic Koreans in the U.S. by introducing them to a variety of high-quality jobs and helping employers hire talented young ethnic Koreans.”
