Girl group NewJeans will collaborate with Dolphiners Film and singer-songwriters The Black Skirts and Oohyo for its upcoming EP “OMG.”

According to its entertainment agency ADOR on Tuesday, music videos for two songs in the EP will be produced by Shin Woo-seok, director and CEO of Dolphiners Film. The Black Skirts and Oohyo have taken part in writing the lyrics of a track called “Ditto.”

“Ditto” will be released on Dec. 19, ahead of the full EP.

“The music video for ‘Ditto’ contains an unexpected story of the Bunnies [fan club name of the girl group] and NewJeans, and the unique clip directed by Dolphiners Film and the lyrics by The Black Skirts and Oohyo add a new charm to this song,” said the agency.

Dolphiners Film is a company of filmmakers and ad-makers based in Seoul. For its short films and advertisements, the company has won prizes at various ceremonies such as The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, New York Festivals Advertising Awards, Palm Springs International ShortFest and Korea Advertising Awards.

Its work with NewJeans marks Dolphiners Film’s first time directing a music video.

The Black Skirts is a one-man band with singer-songwriter Jo Hyu-il, which debuted in 2006. He has released hits such as “Don’t You Worry Baby (I’m Only Swimming)” (2011), “Team Baby” (2017), and “Thirsty” (2019). It won Best Modern Rock Album during the 2010 and 2020 Korean Music Awards.

Oohyo is an indie singer-songwriter who debuted in 2014 with the EP “Girl Sense.” She has since released the EP “Silence” (2020) and full-length albums “Adventure” (2015) and “Far From the Madding City” (2019).

ADOR had announced earlier this month that the girl group will release its new EP “OMG” on Jan. 2.

“OMG” will consist of a lead track that did not make it onto the group’s first full-length album “New Jeans” (2022) and other tracks that the group is dedicating to its Bunnies.

NewJeans debuted in August and has been soaring in popularity. It set a new record for a debuting K-pop group by selling 311,271 copies of its first EP “New Jeans” in a week. Songs “Attention,” “Hype Boy” and “Cookie” have landed on the music charts of Billboard and Spotify.

The group has five members: Hanni, Minji, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein.
