Variety published its 2024 Young Hollywood Impact Report on its website on Thursday. NewJeans was the only K-pop group to be included in the list.
The magazine praised NewJeans for hitting a record number of streams on Spotify as well as its accomplishments on Billboard charts. It also noted the band’s global brand partnerships with companies such as Coca-Cola and Apple.
NewJeans has been actively promoting its music throughout this year with its comeback in Korea and debut in Japan.
The group’s Korean single “How Sweet” and Japanese debut single “Supernatural” stormed domestic and foreign music charts. Both releases sold over 1 million copies, giving NewJeans a total of five million-sellers so far.
NewJeans performed for an audience of 91,000 people during its meet and greet held in Tokyo in June. The girl group has been nominated for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in two categories — the Group of the Year award and the Best K-Pop award for its song “Super Shy” from its EP “Get Up” (2023).
