A food map for Koreatown restaurants is now available for distribution.
On April 23, the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles (KACCLA) celebrated the launch of the “K-Town Food LA” map and distributed “recommended restaurant” stickers. The event was attended by the Consulate General of Korea, sponsors, and non-profit foundations.

The restaurant map, a key initiative of the 47th presidency of KACCLA, was created over six months by dedicated task force members who selected more than 50 restaurants through a survey.
The front of the map features 56 restaurants, including 10 K-BBQ restaurants, 18 Korean restaurants, 12 Japanese and Chinese restaurants, 6 casual dining restaurants, and 10 bars and coffee shops. The back of the map includes information on sponsors and 12 emerging restaurants.
“We hope that this project can help Korean-American business owners, especially restaurants that are struggling after the pandemic and rising wages,” said Peter Kim, president of KACCLA. “Unlike the previous Koreatown map, which focused solely on the map itself, we expect this map to serve as a medium to direct people to the K-Town Food map website (ktownfoodla.com).”

The KACCLA previously produced and released a map of Koreatown in 2011 as part of its “Boom Up Koreatown” project with the Korea Daily.
Mickey Baek, who was in charge of the digital graphic art for the map, said, “We included major symbols of LA and Koreatown, such as the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Park, Wilton Theater, Dawooljung, and the Equitable Building. The map is designed to be easy to navigate for those looking for a good restaurant.”
The project aims to produce and distribute 40,000 maps in total, with the first batch of 10,000 maps already in distribution.

KACCLA vice president Jay Kim said, “Along with the map, we will also provide 10,000 stickers to display at recommended businesses. While we couldn’t include many due to limited space on the map, scanning the QR codes on the map and stickers with your smartphone will connect you directly to the website. The map includes websites and locations of restaurants by food category, and we plan to include more restaurants in the future. We are also developing a dedicated mobile app, which will be launched with the support of the Overseas Koreans Agency.”
KACCLA plans to cooperate with Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Samho Tour to distribute more maps to visitors and will continue the task force under the next presidency for continued updates.
