Netflix series ‘Beef’ starring Steven Yeun earns 13 Emmy nominations

Netflix’s original series “Beef”, created by a Korean American producer and starring Korean American actors including Steven Yeun, has received 13 nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards.

According to the LA Times and ABC7 News, “Beef”, also known as ‘Angry People’ in Korean, has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards.

The series is in the running to win Outstanding Limited Series. Lead actors Steven Yeun and Ali Wong have received nominations for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Limited Series respectively. Supporting actors Joseph Lee and Young Mazino have also been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, and Maria Bello for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series.

Out of Netflix’s 103 Emmy nominations, “Beef” has received 13, as reported by the LA Times.

“Beef”, created by production company A24, is set in Los Angeles and revolves around the story of conflict and revenge between a Korean American building contractor (Steven Yeun) and a successful businesswoman, Amy (Ali Wong), after a road rage incident. The series also delves into the lives of Korean immigrants and their church community.

Since its release on Netflix in April, the drama has garnered high praise from both the public and critics, earning an IMDb rating of 8.3 (out of 10) and a Rotten Tomatoes Freshness Score of 98%.

The 75th Annual Emmy Awards will be broadcast at 8 p.m. EST on September 18 on Fox.

The Emmy Awards are presented annually to honor television productions across various genres, including dramas, comedies, documentaries, and shows. Organized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, it is widely regarded as the TV version of the Academy Awards.
