After the K-pop band NCT 127 was appointed as PUMA’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) ambassador on Monday, the sportswear brand continues to tease fans with teaser images and clips for its new Slipstream sneaker campaign this week.
Introduced initially as basketball shoes in 1987, the Slipstreams proved popular not only on the court but also among sneakerheads and the hip-hop dance crew scene.
Beginning with the Slipstream campaign, NCT 127 will partake in promotional activities for PUMA in 15 APAC regions.
“The Slipstream is an iconic sneaker that represents PUMA’s sports heritage, which is why we look forward to it even more because it’s our first time working with NCT 127 for a campaign,” PUMA Korea said in a statement. “We hope Slipstream receives much love from our customers with its new trendy design.”
NCT 127 debuted in 2016 as one of NCT’s subunit groups. The subunit has 10 members: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Mark, and Heechan. It has released songs like “Fire Truck” (2016), “Cherry Bomb” (2017), “Kick It” (2020), and “Sticker” (2021).
