Man believed to be South Korean racially abused and severely beaten at Koreatown Metro station

[ABC7 News]
A man believed to be South Korean was racially abused and severely assaulted at the Koreatown Metro station.

The man told ABC7 News he was attacked on his way to Wilshire/Western station to take the Metro Purple Line subway last Sunday (February 26).

The man said he clearly remembers the perpetrators who yelled racial slurs while beating him, adding that he wishes they be caught.

After the assault, the man took another train bound to Union Station, got off at Figueroa/7th Street Station, and reported the incident to the Los Angeles police officers there in the area.

Police said they received the case and are currently investigating the incident.

The man said he still feels pain in his head and legs, and his right elbow is swollen.

He said he hopes to see the two or three men who assaulted him get arrested, so that he can finally feel safe to use the public transportation again.
