The LA Korean Cultural Center has announced that a K-Pop dance challenge event featuring the popular girl group STAYC will be held on July 26 at 5:30 p.m. in Ari Hall on the center’s third floor.
The “K-Pop Dance Challenge with STAYC” event will include learning and recording dance videos of the key choreography from STAYC’s hit songs like “Cheeky Icy Thang” and “Stay WITH me.” Participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from the artists and create dance challenge videos together.
The dance teaching session will be conducted by the artists themselves, divided into groups, and will last for one hour. Following the dance challenge, a separate event including a fan signing and artist talk, organized by High Up Entertainment, will be held for pre-selected K-Pop fans.
The Cultural Center has announced that the dance challenge videos and photos taken during the event will be posted on the KCCLA online channels.
The event, which opened for online registration, was fully booked within a day due to high demand.
“This event will be a meaningful occasion for K-Pop artists visiting from Korea to meet with local fans in LA,” said the center’s director Sangwon Jung. “As K-Pop continues to gain tremendous popularity, we will strive to present diverse K-Pop related programs in the future.”
From July 28 to Aug. 5, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) will host “K-story & Comics in America” in LA.
For the first time, this event will combine business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumers (B2C) components. The B2B event will be held from July 24 to 26 at the AC Hotel in downtown LA, while the B2C event will take place from July 26 to 28 at KCON 2024 in the LA Convention Center.
The B2B event will feature 14 Korean comic, webtoon, and story companies showcasing over 50 works. The B2C event will offer visitors the chance to explore Korean comics and webtoons through a digital library zone with over 40 titles, AR photo card creation booths, and other interactive experiences.
Visitors can also take photos with characters from the displayed works, complete famous lines, play video games, and watch animation.
