The 2024 Paris Olympics will officially commence on July 26 in Paris. Starting at 10 a.m. Western Time, NBC Network will broadcast the opening ceremony and key events live.

Local Korean shopping malls and restaurants in Southern California will also offer live viewing experiences through large projectors and TVs. Korean businesses are supporting the national teams of both Korea and the U.S. by organizing various events and increasing the number of large projectors and TVs for customer convenience during the Olympics.

“Chicken Today,” a newly opened restaurant in LA’s Koreatown, has installed four large projectors and four TVs to celebrate the Paris Olympics. Customers who bring a copy of our newspaper, the Korea Daily, will receive special discounts at the restaurants.

Peter Chung, the owner of “Chicken Today,” stated, “Every medal won by the Korean and U.S. teams gives us great strength as we live our daily lives. The Olympics bring us joy and hope, so we will offer 16-ounce draft beers at half price, $5, to customers who bring a copy of the Korea Daily.”

Additionally, “Chicken Today” will launch a $5 draft beer event on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday and on the day the Korean team wins their first gold medal.

“Jjamppong Zizon,” located on Wilshire Boulevard, will start a three-month discount event offering “Jjajangmyeong” for $8.99 to commemorate the Paris Olympics starting July 26.

Sam Chung, the owner of the restaurant, expressed, “I hope all Koreans living in the U.S. will cheer for the Korean team and that the athletes perform well. I also wish that, through this Olympics, both Korea and the U.S. can unite, and the world can become peaceful without war.”

Additionally, “Sulga House of Bone Soup” will sell their Seolleongtang, previously priced at $19, for $9.99 during the Paris Olympics. The Japanese restaurant “Awon,” with branches 1 and 2 in Koreatown, will also sell alcoholic beverages for $5 if the national team wins a gold medal during the Olympics.

Meanwhile, the Paris Olympics will begin July 26 and end at noon on August 11. For the NBC broadcast schedule of key Olympic events, visit their website at www.nbcolympics.com.
