The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles (Consul General Kim Young-Wan) has been experiencing phone connection issues for more than two weeks. In response, the consulate has implemented a call-forwarding system to minimize disruptions.

Calls to the main consulate number (213-385-9300) will now be automatically redirected to designated staff. The temporary alternative number (213-215-9235) remains in service.

Officials also encourage the public to use the consulate’s KakaoTalk account (주로스앤젤레스총영사관) or email (service-la@mofa.go.kr) for faster assistance.

The issue reportedly stems from the recent theft of copper telephone wires from a nearby telecommunications site.
