John Moon and Cindy Kim, Korean American siblings in their 50s, were arrested for allegedly shooting and killing Cuauhtémoc García, 66, in broad daylight at a Cerritos park.

Incident and Arrest
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) reported that the fatal shooting took place on February 25 along a bike path near Don Knabe Community Regional Park. Authorities arrested the suspects on March 10.
Although LASD initially described them as an Asian man and woman, Fox 11, citing law enforcement sources, identified them as Moon (54, Korean name Chong Uk) and Kim (58). The motive remains unknown, and their connection to García, a businessman, is unclear.
TikTok Video Leads to Arrest
A TikTok video played a key role in their arrest. On March 7, LASD released a wanted poster, prompting a citizen to report a video where the siblings argued with others before the incident. This tip led investigators to focus on them as suspects. Authorities later confirmed that they had been driving a silver Toyota Prius.
Police Pursuit and Capture
The siblings were arrested in Anaheim after a police chase. A Fullerton Police Department officer spotted their vehicle on March 10, triggering the pursuit. Officers from the Anaheim Police Department joined in before successfully apprehending them.
Tracking them was difficult since they had been living in their car. Authorities stated that Moon fired the fatal shot, while Kim admitted to witnessing her younger brother pull the trigger.
Ongoing Investigation
Both suspects remain in custody without bail. Miesha McClendon, an LASD public information officer, told The Korea Daily on March 12 that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has not yet decided on formal charges. The investigation into the motive is ongoing.
