A conference to bring together Korean-American police and law enforcement officials from across the U.S. will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Korean American Law Enforcement Organization (KALEO) announced that it is hosting the 2024 Korean Law Enforcement Conference (KLEC) at the Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel from October 27-30.

The conference will be attended by law enforcement professionals from across the U.S., as well as Korea and Canada, to strengthen ties and build cooperative relationships between law enforcement agencies in each country, KALEO said.

The event is expecting a total of 120 participants, including Cecil Rhambo, Chief of Police at Los Angeles World Airports. About a fifth of the participants are estimated to be Korean-Canadian police officers and law enforcement agents, and four police consuls from the South Korean government in the U.S., including the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles.

The conference will cover key objectives, such as professional development and training, community engagement, networking and collaboration, innovative solutions and practices, career advancement, and cross-border cooperation. This is KALEO’s second annual conference, the first of which was held in Chicago last year.

KALEO is a nonprofit organization for Korean-American officers from different law enforcement agencies in Southern California to conduct social contribution activities and foster cooperation that officially launched in January 2020. It is the first Korean-American organization for police and law enforcement officials to come together under one nonprofit organization. KALEO has conducted safety seminars and initiatives to combat hate crimes, and it also offers student scholarships to support future leaders of the community.
