KBS’s new weekend drama series, Father Is Strange, takes its first step of the production after finalizing the cast.

Father Is Strange is a heartwarming family drama about a diligent father Byun Han-soo and his family. The drama comically illustrates incidents family members encounter as a singer-turned-actor starts living with the family.

Actor Kim Young-chul and actree Kim Hye-sook are acting the “strange” father and his wife, while Min Jin-woong, Lee Yoo-ri, Jung So-min, and Ryu Hwa-young are featured as siblings. MBLAQ’s Lee Joon acts the singer-turned-actor Ahn Joong-hee who builds a romantic relationship with Jung So-min’s role, Byun Mi-young.

According to an official source, cast members are to have the first read-through on Wednesday, January 11. As KBS’s current weekend drama, The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop, is building towards the end with a huge success of 35% viewer rating, expectations for the following series, Father Is Strange, is also increasing.

Father Is Strange will start airing in February.
