Leaders of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles (KACCLA). KACCLA announced its plan to host Meet the City on Nov. 8, an event aimed at facilitating Korean American small businesses in conducting business with the city government.

Striving to foster business connections between Korean American small businesses in Los Angeles and the city government, the Korean American Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles (KACCLA), in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles Office of Procurement, will organize the ‘Meet the City’ event on Nov. 8.

According to KACCLA, the event is intended to unveil practical business opportunities for Korean American small businesses seeking to engage in business activities with LA City Hall and the city government.

Participating City Hall procurement departments include the Bureau of Contract Administration, Regional Alliance Marketplace for Procurement, Department of Public Works, etc.

Meet the City will organize meetings between these departments and attendees, offering information, consultation, and contracting opportunities, encompassing the preparation of essential procedures and documentation. Attendees will also benefit from one-on-one personalized consultation sessions with department representatives relevant to their product offerings.

“It’s not just an opportunity to exchange information and network, but also a platform to follow up with city government officials and conduct business consultations,” KACCLA highlighted.

“Even for something as simple as selling a ballpoint pen to City Hall, one must navigate through the city’s Office of Procurement,” noted Seungho Lee, chairman of the Meet the City organizing committee. He added, “This event aims to facilitate Korean American businesses from various sectors in establishing business liaisons with the city government.”

The event is scheduled to occur from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on November 8 at the Tom Bradley Room at LA City Hall (200 N Spring St.) and is complimentary for all Korean American small businesses.

However, as the venue can accommodate around 100 attendees, pre-registration is necessary. It is recommended that registrants include a list of their products and services, enabling KACCLA to efficiently align them with the most suitable department officials.

Complimentary parking is available at the LA City Hall parking garage. Attendees can acquire a flyer post-registration; the flyer can be used as a parking validation at the entrance.

“This event will serve as a practical resource for Korean American businesses in the Los Angeles vicinity,” remarked Peter Kim, president of KACCLA.
