K-Pop sensation BLACKPINK celebrates 8th Anniversary with 13 billion streams on Spotify

K-Pop powerhouse girl group BLACKPINK has achieved a remarkable milestone on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, surpassing 13 billion streams.

Spotify announced this impressive achievement on August 1, coinciding with the launch of the “This is BLACKPINK” playlist feature to commemorate BLACKPINK’s 8th anniversary.

“Their Spotify streams tracked an average year-on-year growth of more than 110%, and the group now has more than 13 billion streams on our platform,” the company said in a press release. “BLACKPINK tracks have been added to more than 71 million user-generated playlists.”

The company added that their top five most-streamed songs—“How You Like That,” “Kill This Love,” “Pink Venom,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and “Shut Down”—have collectively garnered more than 4 billion streams.

On Spotify, BLACKPINK’s top listening markets include the U.S., Indonesia, Mexico, the Philippines, and Brazil, well beyond South Korea.

NewJeans’ hit song “OMG” surpassing 700 million streams on Spotify [NewJeans’ X]

Meanwhile, girl group NewJeans’ hit song “OMG” also has surpassed 700 million streams on Spotify, according to their agency, ADOR, on August 1. “OMG” reached 700,351,316 streams as of July 30, setting a new best record for the group.

On the same day, their other song “Attention” exceeded 400 million streams, becoming NewJeans’ fifth song to achieve this milestone. The agency reported that the total number of Spotify streams for all NewJeans’ songs has reached 4.8 billion.
