The Korea Daily will review a series of restaurants in LA frequented by K-pop idols and celebrities. The second K-celeb restaurant following Jinsol Gukbap is BCD Tofu House.
BCD Tofu House was recommended by Jennie from the K-pop girl group BlackPink.
Jennie mentioned and highly recommended BCD Tofu House in her LA vlog on YouTube.
The restaurant is already renowned for being visited by numerous celebrities, including Seventeen’s Mingyu and Cha Eun-woo from Astro.
The restaurant’s interior is clean, featuring traditional Korean patterns.
We tried several dishes, including the Soft Tofu recommended by Jennie, along with hot-stone pot Bibimbap, Seafood Pancake, Spicy Raw Crab, BBQ Short Rib, and hot-stone pot Nurungji (Scorched Rice).
Upon inquiring with the manager about the most popular dish among celebrities, she told us that the BBQ Short Rib and Soft Tofu soup combo is the favorite.
The food was served in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The meal came with an array of side dishes such as Yellow Croaker, Fermented Squid, Kimchi, Fish Cake, and Vegetables, all of which nicely complemented the main courses.
Pricing was reasonable, with the Soft Tofu soup priced at around $17. The highly favored Short Rib + Soft Tofu combo was $25.24 for lunch and $30.49 for dinner. Given that the most expensive item on the menu was $30.49, the prices seem quite reasonable, especially considering the high cost of living in LA.
