My Sassy Girl is a remake of popular romantic comedy movie of the same title in 2001. Starring Jeon Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun, the film has garnered a huge success, being remade several times both in Korea and abroad. The upcoming remake of the film will add historical period drama genre to the character setting of its original work.

Previously, the drama has brought controversies over casting. The drama had an open audition with public voting for the female lead, but as the actress was chosen regardless of the voting results, many questioned the fairness of casting.

However, actor Joo Won relieved fans by letting them know that the production is on its way. On December 8, Joo Won posted a picture of him on Instagram with hashtags saying #filming #cheer.

His hair and makeup make people curious how Joo Won will re-interpret the original Gyeon-woo character as a prince in Joseon Dynasty.
