The Korean American Coalition (KAC) is currently seeking middle and high school students from Southern California to participate in the 2023-2024 Model United Nations (MUN) program.
The KAC Model United Nations program is the flagship leadership program of the Korean American community. It aims to develop future leaders by providing training in research, report writing, public speaking, and presentation skills on global issues.
The program will be conducted twice a week from September 2023 to May 2024, with sessions offered both virtually and in-person. Participating students will gain valuable skills in public speaking, writing, critical analysis, and leadership, enabling them to conduct successful meetings and deliver impactful speeches. They will also engage in in-depth research and investigation to enhance their understanding and perspectives on global issues.
Students in grades 8-11 can apply for the program through the KAC Model United Nations website at kacla.org/leadership-development/#mun. Financial assistance is available, and inquiries can be directed to info@kcala.org.
The early bird application fee is $135, due by August 6. The regular application deadline is August 20, with a fee of $150. Required documents for submission include transcripts and one letter of recommendation.
In the previous year, KAC Model United Nations students actively participated in the UCLA and USC Model United Nations conferences, achieving awards in eight different categories.
