HYBE and Geffen Record’s global girl group KATSEYE is set to make an appearance on the popular U.S. morning show, ABC’s “Good Morning America,” just one month after their debut.
According to HYBE and Geffen Records on July 31, KATSEYE (Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae) will appear on the live broadcast of the show on August 5, where they will perform their recently released second single, “Touch,” live. This will be KATSEYE’s first performance on a major U.S. network.
“Touch” is an upbeat pop song that highlights the dreamy and unique vocal tones of the six members. The song contrasts sharply with the intense style showcased in their debut single, “Debut,” by emphasizing a softer vibe.
The song has become popular on short-form platforms due to its addictive melody and distinctive point choreography. On the day the track was released, over 800 videos mimicking the point choreography were uploaded on TikTok. As of July 31, the behind-the-scenes performance video has surpassed 4 million views.
HYBE Labels artists like ZICO, ENHYPEN, and BOYNEXTDOOR have also joined the KATSEYE wave, dancing to “Touch” on short-form content that has resonated with global fans. There is growing anticipation to see if the KATSEYE buzz on social media will expand further following their appearance on a prominent U.S. TV show.
KATSEYE is the first girl group from HYBE to debut in the United States. The girl group was formed after overcoming a competition ratio of 6000:1 on the audition program “The Debut: Dream Academy,” which aired from September to November last year.
Meanwhile, a Netflix documentary series titled “Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE,” detailing the group’s journey, is set to be released on August 21.
