Historic hotel The Biltmore LA appoints Sue Yoon as Sales & Marketing Director

A Korean-American woman has been named to a key position at one of LA’s most prestigious hotels.

Irvine resident Sue Yoon has been appointed as the Director of Sales & Marketing for the luxury hotel The Biltmore LA.

Marking its 100th anniversary this year, the hotel is famed for hosting Hollywood stars, presidents, and dignitaries, as well as being the site of the Academy Awards. It also has been the set of multiple Hollywood movies, TV shows, music videos, and the site of the National Convention. The Biltmore LA is a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and is known for hosting major events for Korean-American organizations with its luxurious ballrooms.

In her role, Yoon will manage sales and marketing strategy development, revenue, and distribution for the Biltmore LA, as well as encompass sales of the 683 guestrooms.

Yoon, who immigrated from Korea to the U.S. with her family at age 14, is fluent in both Korean and English. She graduated from California State Polytechnic University Pomona and holds a master’s degree from Cornell University in The School of Hotel Administration.

Prior to joining The Biltmore LA, Yoon served as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Westin Philadelphia and previously held leadership positions at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia and Grand Hyatt Washington D.C. She also has more than 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry in Korea, including serving as the pre-opening sales director for the Hyatt Regency, Incheon.

A proponent of an active lifestyle, Yoon dedicates her weekends to being a golf instructor. With 20 years of experience, she earned her Certified Golf Teaching Professional license from the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) in 2017.
