Best way to avoid indigestion is to prevent it by chewing more and eating less and slowly. However, if it’s too late and you are already suffering from indigestion or a heartburn, try these foods and drinks.

1. Carrot and Mint Juice
Combination of carrot and mint may not sound familiar (or delicious), but it’s the best cure for indigestion as mint eases bloated stomach and carrot supplies nutrients. To make this digestion juice, slice a carrot and boil with 4 cups of water and 1 tsp of dried mints. When the tea starts to boil, lower the heat and boil for 15 more minutes.

2. Burnt Toast
Char from the burnt part of the toast absorbs toxins, relieving the symptom of indigestion

3. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the commonly used kitchen cabinet cures for various symptoms, including hiccups or sore throats. To help digestion, add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp of honey to a cup of hot water.

4. Yogurt
Bacteria in yogurt relieves indigestive symptoms, as well as it improves immune system. However, too much sugar or fat in yogurt act against digestion, so try to consume non-fat plain yogurts with less sugar.

5. Rice Tea
If you start to suffer from diarrhea, try a cup of rice tea. Add half a cup of rice to 6 cups of boiling water and boil for 15 minutes. Drink only the water. You can add a small amount of sugar or honey.

6. Caraway Seed
Used frequently in Rye breads and multi-seed breads, Caraway seed has plenty of vitamins and minerals that work against bad bacteria in your stomach. Chewing caraway seeds slowly will relieve symptoms of heartburn and bloated stomach.
