Eunice Kim

A Korean American woman has been appointed as the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Netflix.

On October 3, Netflix announced the promotion of Eunice Kim to the position of CPO, and entertainment publication Variety reported that Kim would be responsible for overseeing the strategy and development of Netflix content streamed globally.

In a statement, Netflix said, “Eunice Kim will play a key role in enhancing the Netflix subscriber experience on the platform.” They also mentioned that she would improve their ability to recommend movies, games, and more based on subscribers’ preferences.

Kim has spent the last decade leading product innovation teams at Google Play and YouTube, where she contributed to shaping the overall product direction and organization. She joined Netflix in 2021 as the head of Consumer Product Innovation. Kim holds a B.A. from Columbia and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Additionally, she serves on the board of directors for Cure CMD.

Kim expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating, “Our product teams have played a pivotal role in helping Netflix transform itself — from DVDs to streaming, licensed to original programming, and U.S.-only to a global service. I’m incredibly excited to lead them into our next chapter as we seek to enhance discovery and enable an even broader world of entertainment.”
