Costco shoppers are being cautioned about a recent surge in pickpocketing incidents at the store, prompting police to issue a public appeal for information on the suspects.

On December 7, around 4:08 p.m., a robbery occurred at the Costco Warehouse on Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village, where a woman’s purse was stolen, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

After reviewing the store’s security footage, law enforcement officers discovered that a male suspect had followed the victim to the parking lot and snatched her purse from her bag.

The police identified two female accomplices working with the male suspect. They believe the trio fled in a dark-colored Infiniti SUV and later attempted to use the stolen cards at a Walmart.

The police urged anyone with information to contact them at 818-878-1808 or 800-222-8477.

In a similar incident last November at the same Costco location, a female customer discovered her purse missing during checkout, with the thieves later using her card at a nearby Target store.
