BTS Jimin’s first solo album sold over 1.45 million copies in the first week of its release, making it the most-sold album in the first week of release for a solo artist, his agency BigHit Music announced Friday.

“Face” sold over a million copies on the day of its release, also marking a record for a solo K-pop artist, according to Hanteo Chart.

Released on March 24, “Face” topped multiple music charts around the world, including the Weekly Digital Album, Weekly Album and Weekly Combined Albums on Japan’s Oricon Charts and Spotify’s Daily Top Song Global Chart.

With 225,000 weekly sales in Japan, it was the first time for a solo artist to rank No. 1 on Oricon’s weekly chart this year, said the Japanese music statistics company on Tuesday.

Jimin is currently promoting his album, appearing on multiple variety shows and music programs. He took home trophies from cable network Mnet’s weekly music show “M Countdown” with lead track “Like Crazy” on Thursday, following his first solo trophy “Set Me Free Pt.2” last week.
