More than 600 British Jamboree Scouts visited Legoland Korea Resort in Chuncheon, Gangwon, on Saturday.

Some 630 British Scouts took part in various activities to beat the summer heat, including rides and a water show, according to Legoland Korea Resort on Monday. They were given a 30 percent discount at all restaurants in the theme park and welcomed with banners.

Activities offered included Miniland, a miniature version of iconic Korean cities and tourist attractions including Chuncheon’s Jungang Market and Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju, as well as Sungnyemun Gate and Myeongdong in Seoul.

The scouts also visited the Lookout Observation Deck, which offers a panoramic view of Chuncheon’s Jungdo Island.

“Through the various programs and attractions, we hope the British Scouts will experience a wide range of Korean culture and spend meaningful time at various tourist attractions at Chuncheon,” Lee Soon-Kyu, a representative of the Divisional Director at Legoland Korea Resort, said.

Legoland Korea Resort is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Merlin Entertainment, a British entertainment firm that operates more than 140 attractions in 24 countries.

The theme park resort in Korea, the largest Legoland theme park in Asia and the second largest globally after New York, opened in May 2022 as the world’s 10th Legoland attraction.
