Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, after her 70 years of ruling, the longest-monarch in Britain’s history.
According to Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II dies at ther residence in Balmoral, Scotland. Her eldest son, Charles, 73, will ascend the monarch, and if he keeps his name, he will be called as King Charles III.
As monarch, the Queen Elizabeth II will be given a state funeral, which is expected to take place 12 days after her death. Specific details about the ceremony have yet to be formally announced.
