BLACKPINK’s Lisa set to make history as first K-pop singer at Academy Awards

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK member Lisa will take the stage at the Academy Awards ceremony.

On February 24, the Academy announced that Lisa would be performing at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony, which will be held on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre. This marks the first time a K-pop singer will perform on the Oscars stage.

According to the announcement, Lisa will share the stage with renowned rapper Doja Cat and British singer-songwriter RAYE. The Academy has not disclosed details about their performance. However, given that Doja Cat and RAYE were featured on Lisa’s recently released song “Born Again,” it is likely that they will perform this song during the ceremony.

They are expected to perform songs from their roles. Erivo has been nominated for Best Actress, while Grande has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Wicked is also nominated for Best Original Score.

Meanwhile, the film with the most nominations at this year’s Academy Awards is Emilia Pérez, directed by Jacques Audiard, which has been nominated in 13 categories.
