Ashley Park, a 32-year-old Korean-American actress known for her role in ‘BEEF’, has been hospitalized due to life-threatening septic shock.

On January 19, Park shared an Instagram photo of herself in a hospital bed, with a nasal tube and an IV drip.

“While on holiday in December into New Year, what started as tonsillitis spiraled into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs,” she wrote.

Park also expressed gratitude to her boyfriend, actor Paul Forman, recounting, “You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know.”

Park and Forman both starred in the popular Netflix series ‘Emily in Paris’.

“I hesitated to share what’s been happening as I’m still in the throes of recovery,” Park said, adding, “but I now know I’m safely on the other side of the worst.”

“I’m sorry for being so absent recently to so much and people in my life. I love you all. I’m healing and I promise I’m gonna be okay,” she said.

Originally from Glendale, Park gained fame from Emily in Paris and recently received eight Emmy Awards for her portrayal of ‘Naomi’, a character who grapples with loneliness despite a glamorous life.
