These flights will exclusively offer 1,870 seats redeemable with mileage points, marking a significant departure from the traditional practice of limiting mileage seat availability. Reservations for these flights opened on March 19 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
Aircraft and Mileage Requirements
The ultra-large Airbus A380 will be deployed for these flights, providing spacious cabins and premium travel experiences. For one-way tickets during the off-peak season, passengers will need 35,000 miles for economy class and 62,500 miles for business Smartium class. However, peak-season flights—such as the Incheon-Los Angeles flight on May 4 and the New York-Incheon flight on June 11—will require an additional 50% mileage deduction, amounting to 52,500 miles for economy class and 93,750 miles for business class.

Booking Details
Mileage-exclusive reservations are available up to 20 days before departure. After this period, any remaining seats can be purchased with cash. This initiative follows Asiana’s successful domestic mileage promotions, such as the “Jeju Happy Mileage Week,” which added 38,000 mileage seats on domestic routes with a reservation rate exceeding 92%.
Strategic Goals
Asiana Airlines aims to address customer concerns regarding limited mileage redemption opportunities while improving its financial position ahead of its merger with Korean Air. By facilitating mileage usage, the airline reduces accounting liabilities and converts them into revenue.
A representative of Asiana Airlines’ Americas Regional Office stated, “We are committed to expanding mileage redemption opportunities throughout the year and are considering additional mileage-exclusive flights in the second half of 2025.”
