Asiana Airlines is launching a special offer in conjunction with its increased service to San Francisco (SFO).
Asiana Airlines announced that starting October 28, the airline will introduce three additional daytime flights (OZ215/216) to San Francisco each on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This will increase the number of flights to 10 weekly, including night flights (OZ211/212), which currently operate seven times a week.
To celebrate the increase in weekly flights, Asiana Airlines is also running a special offer on its website (flyasiana.com) until August 23.
Roundtrip tickets departing from San Francisco to Incheon, Korea are available for booking for as low as $991 including taxes and fuel surcharges on the expanded flights (OZ215/216) with travel periods between November 1 and March 29 next year.
“With 10 more flights per week to San Francisco, customers planning to visit Korea will have more convenient scheduling options. For more information on the increased schedule and special offers to celebrate the expansion, please visit the Asiana Airlines website.”
Asiana also announced another change in operation recently, with the change in pricing policy for business class options.
The airlines is changing its Upgrade Standby service fee, also known as “Value business class,” depending on the route.
In a recent announcement, Asiana Airlines announced that the new Upgrade Standby rules will take effect at 8:00 a.m. (Pacific Time) on August 20, effective from the date of ticketing.
With this move, one-way upgrade service fees will be reduced on short-haul routes and increased on long-haul routes, and New York, which was previously in Long Haul 2 along with Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, will be moved to the new Group 6.
As a result, service charges for routes departing from the Western region of the U.S., including Los Angeles, will increase by between 4.8% and 7.7%, depending on the booking class of service, from $850 for Y/B, $1,050 for M/H, $1,300 for E/Q, and $1,500 for K/S to $900, $1,100, $1,400, and $1,600 respectively.
Group 6, New York routes, will increase 23.8-30.1% to $1100, $1300, $1700, and $1900, respectively, after the change.
The Upgrade Standby service allows passengers purchasing an economy class ticket to upgrade to a business seat by requesting the service via the airline’s website and mobile between 96 and 24 hours before departure.
All services except business class seats and meals are provided on an economy class standard, and upgrades are not available if all business class seats are full.
According to the airline, it can be up to 20% cheaper than regular business class purchases, depending on whether you’re flying one-way, round-trip, or booking class.
