As part of the selection process, each four-year scholarship finalist will also undergo a family visit interview conducted at their home.

Evaluation process

Lee Il-Seop, the head of the scholarship evaluation committee, emphasized that applicants will be assessed based on financial need, academic performance, and potential for community contribution. He noted, “The essay is especially important. We want to see the student’s honest values and perspective.”

In addition, the scholarship committee stated that 15 independent judges, all professionals in various fields, will review applications fairly and systematically.

More than financial aid

Lee Yong-Gi, chair of the scholarship committee, added that the initiative goes beyond financial assistance. “We hope these students will one day pay it forward and help others in turn.”
