The Pacific Century Institute (PCI) has selected Michelle Steel, former U.S. Representative for California’s 45th congressional district, and the Asia Society as winners of its Bridge Award 2024. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that strengthen international understanding.
Steel served on the California State Board of Equalization and as an Orange County Supervisor before her time in Congress. PCI recognized her contributions to public service and cross-cultural engagement.
The Asia Society, founded in 1956 by John D. Rockefeller III, promotes global awareness of Asia. Kang Kyung-Wha, former South Korean Foreign Minister, became its president in January 2023.
The Bridge Award ceremony will take place on March 6 at 6 p.m. at The Beverly Hills Hotel. Around 300 leaders from politics, business, academia, and diplomacy will attend.
