North Korea has denounced former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed plan for Gaza, which reportedly involves the U.S. taking control of Palestine and forcibly relocating its residents to neighboring countries. Pyongyang argued that a nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity “cannot be used as a bargaining chip or a plaything for the United States.”
However, the article notably avoided mentioning Trump by name, instead referring only to “the current U.S. administration.”
On February 12, the Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party, criticized Trump’s plan through an editorial published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) titled “The Tyrannical Robber—This is the True Face of the U.S.”

Without explicitly mentioning Trump by name, the article read, “a ruthless declaration trampling on the last sliver of hope Palestinians have for regional peace and stability.”
The Rodong Sinmun accused the U.S. of using the Gaza crisis to advance its geopolitical ambitions in the Middle East, claiming that the plan reflects “Washington’s ulterior motive to permanently occupy Gaza and expand its foothold for regional dominance.”
“The U.S. has openly revealed its predatory nature,” the editorial stated. “Washington’s strategy of survival—rooted in slaughter and plunder—along with its hegemonic ambitions, are not relics of the past. They are vividly playing out in Gaza today.”
North Korea further argued that the issue “extends far beyond Gaza” and serves as an example of U.S. imperialist tendencies.
The article accused the Trump administration of systematically undermining international law and violating national sovereignty, citing several of Trump’s past proposals related to Greenland, Panama Canal, and the Gulf of Mexico.
The Rodong Sinmun condemned these moves as “reckless actions that mock international law and principles.”
The editorial asserted that the era of U.S. unipolar dominance has ended, warning Washington to “wake up from its outdated delusions and immediately cease violating the sovereignty and dignity of other nations.”
North Korea has long maintained strong ties with Palestine, positioning itself as a leading anti-U.S. and anti-imperialist force in global diplomacy. Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, Pyongyang has consistently blamed Washington for the conflict, aligning itself with pro-Palestinian forces while condemning U.S. support for Israel.
