Popular K-pop boy group Big Bang has won an award from the Italian MTV Awards 2016, according to their talent agency, YG Entertainment.
The band took “Best Artist from the World” during the international event, which took place on Sunday local time in Firenze, Italy.
Big Bang is the only Korean group to have ever been given the award.
Other winners at the event included Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande and Italian artists Negramaro and The Kolors.
G-Dragon, who leads the group, expressed his gratitude toward his fans through his SNS, saying “I am very thankful to the fans that have shown support and love [for our team.]”
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Big Bang’s debut, and the group is preparing numerous projects to celebrate their anniversary.
One upcoming release is the music documentary “Big Bang Made,” to come out June 30 exclusively through CGV.
