Korean-American golfer Jennifer Chang has taken to Instagram to call out Delta Airlines for its poor baggage handling. In the post, Chang wrote, “Custom made by Delta,” and pointed out that the airline had “run over some golf clubs.”
According to Chang, she recently flew Delta and checked her golf club bag as luggage. She went to get her bag after the flight and was shocked at what she saw. Her golf club bag was scorched with a large hole in it, and her 9-iron was ground on one side.
Chang sarcastically pointed out that Delta had customized the clubs and bags for her. A Delta spokesperson told the Daily Mail that it has seen what happened on social media and is reaching out to her directly to learn more.
Chang, 25, is ranked 407th in the women’s world golf ranking. This week, she is competing in the LPGA’s The Anika in Florida.
Previously in May, Delta had apologized after a baggage handler was filmed throwing a bag of golf clubs belonging to the Tennessee men’s golf team from a passenger plane onto the runway. In March, the airline also faced controversy when an employee at New York’s LaGuardia Airport made racist comments to a Korean-American man, a well-known Christian filmmaker, and removed him from a flight.
