Korean startups held a showcase in Southern California to expand into the U.S. and attract investment.
The Korean startup showcase event, held at the Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park, was attended by more than 80 people from the Los Angeles Venture Association, the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles and Orange County, and trade association experts.
A total of 18 startups from the beauty, food, medical, hygiene, and artificial intelligence sectors participated in the event, including four from Seowon University’s Global BizOn program, four from Chungbuk National University’s Innopolis, and 10 from the Chungbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center.
Eight companies showcased their business directions, visions, and innovative ideas through presentations, gaining attention from local companies in the export counseling session.
Major companies included Careworm, which manufactures functional feed for pets and aquaculture fish using insects, Moisten, which manufactures ODF films for cosmetics and food using hyaluronic acid synthesis, OptAI, an on-device AI optimization platform, and MayCoders, a global K-beauty manufacturing and distribution platform, MAFNB, which produces Yukdori Tteokbokki aiming to distribute K-food globally, Preventist, which manufactures infection control products such as disinfectants and cleaning agents, Pebble-i, which manufactures senior and caregiving robots.
Kyungtae Kim, CEO of ZeroToOne Partners, which organized the event, said, “The innovative technologies of Korean companies have great potential in the U.S. market. We expect this event to mark an important turning point for Korean companies to enter the U.S. and expand their exports.”
Companies will also be participating in the UCLA Startup Program and Business Show on the October 10.
