Apple’s upcoming suite of AI features, Apple Intelligence, will support Korean by the end of 2025.

The California-based company announced in a news release that its newly announced feature set will include languages including German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese and Vietnamese next year.

Apple first announced Apple Intelligence at its Worldwide Developers Conference in Cupertino, California, in June. The company plans to release a public beta in October, which will include some, but not all of the features that were announced, including a tool for rewriting, proofreading and summarizing text; an updated version of its existing Siri personal assistant; call recording; and photo-related AI tools including a feature that removes unwanted objects from photos.

ChatGPT integration, Visual Intelligence that interacts with elements in photos and Genmoji, a generative AI-assisted Emoji generator, are currently scheduled for release by the end of this year.

Most Apple Intelligence features will be processed on-device, though some more complex tasks will be sent to Apple’s own servers, dubbed Private Cloud Compute, through an end-to-end encrypted connection.

Apple Intelligence will initially support only U.S. English upon its public beta launch in October. Apple said it would introduce other variations of English, including British and Canadian, to Apple Intelligence in December, followed by Japanese, French, Chinese and Spanish in 2025, when it initially announced the service in June.

This update on planned language support comes just ahead of the official release of Apple’s iPhone 16 series and Apple Watch Series 10 on Friday.

Korea is in the first batch of countries for the iPhone launch, marking the first time the country has been part of the initial release.

Apple Intelligence will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 lineups, iPad Pro, Mac laptops and desktops with M1 chipset and later.
