A group of Korean Americans supporting Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will be launched.
On August 8 at 5 p.m., the “Korean Americans for Harris (KAH)” will hold an online launch event, pledging continuous support throughout the election period.
KAH has announced that key Democratic elected officials and activists from across the nation will participate in the event. They will celebrate the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Walz, and outline their plans to support their election.
The list of speakers includes Hawaii Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke, U.S. Representatives Andy Kim (New Jersey) and Marilyn Strickland (Washington), Pennsylvania State Representative Patty Kim, and Georgia State Representative Sam Park.
Steve Kang, the director of the Korean American Democratic Association who has been promoting the event, stated, “This is a revival of the active Korean support organization from the 2020 presidential election. Key Korean American Democratic figures from across the country are joining as co-chairs to enable broader participation from Koreans who support the Democratic Party and Harris.”
The co-chairs of KAH include Director Kang, Linda Shim Vice President for Federal Government Affairs at Comcast NBCUniversal, Dan Lee, CEO & Co-founder of YURA Health, former Virginia State Representative Mark Keam, San Mateo-Foster City School District’s Education Board Member Gean Kim, Esther Im from the Foreign Policy for America, and influencer David Lee (Colorado).
KAH is recruiting Korean American volunteers for phone banking activities during the remaining election period and is also conducting a fundraising campaign on ActBlue.
